The short story books that we have been reading for the past few weeks have been pretty sad and depressing. Then a few of them have been some of the dumbest things I have ever heard. For example, "Harrison Bergeron" was by far the weirdest peice of writing that I have ever read. I did not get a single thing out of it. I could read the story and understand it but I could not seem to process it. Some of the stories though were very good. Even though I thought the ending to "A & P"was not quite complete, I liked Sammy as a character. The short story "And of Clay we are Created" was excellent. It was very sad though but it taught me a lesson like most of the other ones did.

You can say that again, Matthew. I really can't stand sad stories because they can make people cry, including me.
