I have been thinking about what I am going to write as my literacy narrative for a few days now and I still am not sure. I think that most of my experiences with reading and writing assignments aren’t very good. I did not enjoy the books I have read in eighth grade and seventh grade at all.
The two reading assignments that I will probably be choosing from are Romeo and Juliet and To Kill a Mockingbird. I believe that these two books were written well but I do not believe that these are the type of books that I enjoy but I still will write about them.
I think you should write about whichever book changed your feelings about not reading or writing as much. It's good that you actually think the books were well written, but you just didn't feel the essence or importance it gave to you so it gave a negative effect on you is what I have come to think.
ReplyDeleteGood idea, Porscha. Matthew, keep in mind that a literacy narrative is a story. You don't have to have liked a book or to have done well on a paper for it to have affected you in some way, and negative effects are OK, too. The focus here is on telling a story from your reading and writing history that reveals something about you as a reader or writer.
