hunting
It is almost October and I am ready for deer hunting season! This weekend I got myself prepared for bow season. I took a ride through the woods yesterday and I didn't realize how much I missed being out there. I love how it is so peaceful out there where there is nobody there but me and it is so quiet. Hunting is my favorite thing to do along with baseball and it teaches me important lessons that will become useful in life.
literacy narrative group work
When I first started writing my literacy narritive I thought to myself "This is going to be so bad I am going to fail this." I never really read my writing and then Dr. deGravelles assingned me to partner up with Dru Powell and Mary Beth and that really scared me. I thought to myself " This is going to be horrible and they are going to make fun of me and this is going to be miserable reading this to them." They actually told me that is was good and I felt releived. They gave me some really good ideas that I plan on using in my literacy narrative.

literacy narrative ideas
I have been thinking about what I am going to write as my literacy narrative for a few days now and I still am not sure. I think that most of my experiences with reading and writing assignments aren’t very good. I did not enjoy the books I have read in eighth grade and seventh grade at all.
The two reading assignments that I will probably be choosing from are Romeo and Juliet and To Kill a Mockingbird. I believe that these two books were written well but I do not believe that these are the type of books that I enjoy but I still will write about them.
reading response
I chose to read another book in addition to red kayak this week. I was walking around Barnes and Nobles when I saw a book that interested me. It is called Finally Free by Michael Vick, the current quarterback for the philiedelphia ealgles. Through his career I have been watching him and he has grown to be one of my favorite players.
Michael explains that he lived in a bad neighborhood in the projects while his mother and father working two jobs to make sure that Michael and his brothers and sisters had the best life possible. He talks about how his family were very serious about there religion and faith and that without trusting god you could not do anything.
He goes through a lot trying to make himself a better player to make it into the college level and then to the pro level. Once he finally makes it into the Nfl he starts losing his faith in the lord and makes bad decisions. Then he has to rebuild his life and his skills to try to make a comeback. The phileadelphia eagles decide to give him a chance and he has been doing great ever since. I have read 78 pages so far and I can’t seem to get enough of this book.

hurricane isaac
It was late monday night and i was thinking about hurricane Isaac. I remember hurricane gustav and how we lost power for days. I was laying in bed wondering if this one would be as bad. I could hear the wind whistling and blowing. The gusts of winds were very strong.
The telivision was on and i was waiting for everything to go black. i eventually fell asleepand finally woke up the next morning and nothing had changed. The news said that the hurricane would be near by 7 Tuesday night. The weather worsened and and lost power while I was asleep. It came back on not much later. We eventually lost and regained power three more times. This hurricane was not nearly as bad as Gustav was for me.
